I see it does not look like no one has posted here in some time. But I am a wife of a Texas Inmate and I was just curious if there was anyone here that had a loved one in the Texas system that would like to start htis thread up again??

Okay, I myself went to the state website and because I had his CID # and State # I was able to easily locate him if I needed. I knew where he was but looked it up anyway. Now I tried to look for you. From what I understand Ca is different. And you send in a fax to request the status of someone. Like I said it would really help if you had his #'s

I feel your pain Martha, I really do!! When you love someone so much, it hurts to not be able to make things better. But in our situation all we can do our best one day at a time. And gosh, isn't it funny when times get hard people drift away. It really amazes me. I often want to vent about it. But I try not to let others steal my joy. Even though

-
It would not hurt to call the mail room. Cause they can tell you. You do not want to send it and it be denied. I send my husband paper and envelopes. And paper and envelopes together weigh a good bit. I am not sure how much you are sending. They have guidelines you have to follow.

Here is one link I found. And I will try to find some more here soon and give you those. I am not sure if it is still good. But if not we can dig deep and find more!! If there is a will there is a way!! Hope this helps!! http://hardtohire.com/

They do get a check upon release. But it is not a whole lot. They can apply for housing before release like a half way house. They are giving clothes if they are called that. But as far as that goes when they are released you can take them a set of clothes and they can change into them before they are actually released. They are given a bus ticket if
