The
Lee Adjustment Center (LAC) opened in 1990 as a 400-bed minimum
security prison under contract with the Kentucky Department of
Corrections. Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the industry
leader in private sector corrections, has owned and managed the Lee
Adjustment Center since 1998. In 1999, the prison was converted from a
500-bed minimum security prison to a 500-bed medium security prison.
In 2004, the prison is contracted to house up to 390 medium security
inmates.
The facility’s comprehensive programs emphasize counseling,
substance abuse treatment, work, educational and vocational training
opportunities to prepare Kentucky inmates for re-entry into society.
