    Directions From I-70 go north on U.S. 231. At the intersection of U.S. 231 and U.S. 40 go west (left) on U.S. 40. You will go through the town of Putnamville. The Putnamville Correctional Facility will be located on the south side of U.S. 40 directly across from the Indiana State Police Post.

    Visiting 7:30am to 5:00pm Every day, except Wednesday. There are no visiting hours on Wednesday.
    Time limit is 2 hours during weekdays (unless extremely busy) and 1 hour on the weekends

     

    Inmates are responsible for scheduling their visits.  We will allow visits on a first come, first serve basis.  Inmates will not be called out of programs for visits.

     

    Each inmate may place 5 names on his/her visiting list.  The inmate may request a change to his list in writing to the Jail Commander or his/her designee after 90 days.  Inmates must fill out the visiting forms completely or the visitor will not be allowed to visit.  Inmates who have difficulty completing the form may request help from the officer providing the form.  However; it is the inmate's responsibility to obtain the necessary information for the form.

     

    A picture ID must be shown at the time of each visit.  Visitors must be on the inmate's visiting list.

     

    Inmates are permitted three (3) visits per week, unless restricted by classification or disciplinary action.  The week begins every Sunday.

     

    No person under the age of 18 will be permitted in the lobby during visiting. 

     

    Any visitor that disrupts the visitation process in any manner may have their visiting rights revoked, and may result in the inmate's visiting rights being suspended as well.  Any inmate that disrupts visiting will have his/her visitation rights revoked.  Visiting rights may only be reinstated after a request is sent in writing to the Jail Commander or his/her designee.  Disruptions include, but not limited to:  loud talking or yelling, inappropriate clothing, obscene gestures or profanity, bringing children in the building during visiting, more than one person visiting.  Visiting rights may be revoked at the discretion of the Shift Supervisor.

    In 2006 a young man was physically beaten by a gang member "Rebel Cause". This young man nearly died, luckily he survived but will now spend the rest of his life with a plate in his head, memory loss and all the physical and mental issues that go along with this.
