Dear TiPS Members - VISITATION: MONEY LIMITS
As you are all aware, there has been a lot of dissatisfaction with the amount of money each family member can bring into the visiting room. $30 just isn't enough these days with the rising cost of food in visiting. Recognizing the need for change, TiPS contacted CDCR administration, which was in the midst of reviewing the problem. The TiPs request having added impetus to the request. The most recent memo which is being circulated at all of the prisons to increase the amount of money each visitor can bring into the visiting room can be found at http://www.forpublicsafety.com/money_memo.pdf You might want to take a copy to leave with the visiting staff. Effective immediately $50 is the new limit. ($20 per child) Happy New Year!

My pleasure. The memo is only a week old and as of last weekend, some prisons hadn't even received it, so be sure to check with the visiting department of the prison you visit to be sure they have recognized the increase.
