Unfortunately, I live in a different state that where my son is incarcerated and the phone calls cost $18.00 for fifteen minutes.  It's costly, but until I can get to where he is I have to pay.

I can't believe how much they get away with charging for these calls.... What state is your son in?

He is in Crescent City, CA.  Where is your husband?

my fiance is at a federal facility but he calls me pre paid and i think it's cheaper for them that way because i heard that the collect calls are high.plus they get 300 minutes a month anyway regardless to whether they call pre paid or collect so maybe your son should try doing the pre paid thing.

He's in Pelican Bay then - you should look into Prison Calls Online.  They offer much discounted rates to out of state customers.

My kids' dad is in Corcoran, and I live in Nevada, it's 11 bucks for 15 minutes, which is ok, I suppose, he calls once a week, but I will be glad when he is home! Terry Ann, you seem to know A TON about the system down there!  I am sure that many appreciate your knowledge! I always kind of figured that my ex got himself into the situations, he could get himself out :) I write, send packages and talk to him, and let him talk to and see my boys, but you are much more dedicated than I....glad there are women like you out there!
