Visitation

Kaibab:

  • General population/ protective schedule is 8: 30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and all legal holidays. Check-in time is between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. There will be no visits permitted after the 2:30 p.m. check-in time. Once the visitor has left the visitation area, they are not permitted back in.

  • Visits for detention-status inmates are held as non-contact. The non-contact visitation hours are for a 2-hour period between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

  • All non-contact visits must be scheduled at least 72 hours Monday through Friday prior to the visit by contacting the Visitation Officer.

Apache:

  • Apache: Visitation schedule is Saturday, Sunday and all legal holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visits for detention status inmates are held as non-contact. The non-contact visitation hours are for a 2-hour period between 9:00am and 2:00pm Monday through Friday.
  • Non-contact visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the visit by contacting the visitation office.

Directions
From Phoenix:


Enter the Institution from South Highway 87. The prison will be on the West side of the highway. This will take you directly to the Winslow Complex.

From Flagstaff:
Take I-40 east to Winslow. Winslow is approximately 60 minutes from Flagstaff. From I-40, take the first Winslow exit 252, Hipkoe Road and turn right. This will take you to a four-way stop. Turn left (east) on Second street to Williamson at the stop lights. Turn right and head south on Highway 87. Approximately three miles on the right (west side) is the prison.

The Apache Unit is located on Highway 180 between Springerville and St. Johns, approximately 17 miles from Springerville and 15 miles from St. Johns.
