Has anyone ever heard of the guys getting bused for conversations on the Phone? Micah keeps telling me that I need to watch what I say. I am always asking about stuff he tells me is going on...he tells me when we are together in visitation. He says that the phones are well monitored and he can get in trouble for saying what he sees happening
Is this true
Hi Becca,
Yes it is true. All telephone calls are monitered by a CO as well as letters are read by staff as well. The only time you will have verbal privacy is during a vivt and that is why your friend or loved one speaks to you about such private things during these visits. So be very careful about what you say or write about. One time my husband made a very casual remark about "no one cares and i could just kill myself and no one would care" he said this on the phone to me and as soon as he hung up he was put in a straight jacket and hauled off to a 48 hour suicide watch. He wasn't really even serious just being a smart @#!@. So anyways just to give you an example. ~~Toni Sevchuk
Toni,
You are NOT kidding, that's for sure!! Sometimes I will start talking about topics we have discussed in visitation and he will try to "hint" to me about changing topics.....If I don't get the hint fast enough he has actually bailed on our call!! Then I snap to it, and remember we are NEVER alone on the phone:)
Thanks for the reply. I have since spoken to others at visitation and heard all types of horror stories like the one you shared! I have to always remember that someone else reads my letters first!
You just always have to be careful on what is said ! Things that are innocent can be turned around and get all messed up! ;0)
