Can I receive calls on my cell?

Cell phone companies will not accept the billing charges for a collect call. So no, you can't directly accept the collect calls on your cell. But there are other options. If you or your loved one can pre-pay for the calls, you can accept pre-paid collect calls on your cell phone, regardless of your cell phone provider.

Also, some will suggest that you forward your home phone to your cell, but please be aware that the majority of the Departments of Correction do not permit use of call-forwarding. Using that option is up to you and should be used at your own discretion.

Another option is a service, such as PCO (PCO's Website) that acts as a third party, allowing you to receive calls on any phone you designate and commonly reducing the charge of your calls.
