Opened in 1941 as the Industrial School at White Hill for young offenders, SCI Camp Hill now serves as the state's diagnostic and classification center for men.

Rules:

Each inmate is permitted five visits each month to be allocated as follows:

One visit per week with a second visit permitted one week each month.

No more than two of the five visits may occur on a weekend or holiday.

Weekday visits are a minimum of one hour and a maximum of five hours in length with weekend and holiday visits a maximum of two hours. Inmates in Disciplinary Custody (Restricted Housing Unit) are permitted a maximum of a one-hour visit, Wednesday through Friday, each month with immediate family only, and are not permitted visits after 3:00 P.M.

Each inmate will be limited to five visitors per visit. Visitors may visit only one inmate per day, and each inmate shall have no more than one visit per day. In the case of inmates being immediate relatives (brothers or father and son), exceptions can be made.

Inmates in the Central Diagnostic Classification Center shall not receive regular visits during their first 10 days in the institution. Attorneys and spiritual advisors shall be permitted. When the 10-day period has elapsed, inmates will be permitted visits from persons on their approved visiting list. The above also applies to HVA transfer cases in the CDCC for 60-day evaluations.

All persons including children must be on the inmate's approved visiting list before they shall be permitted to visit. It is the inmate?s responsibility to request additions and deletions to his visiting list.

The Department of Corrections encourages you to put money on inmate accounts electronically using one of the two following options:

JPay

Western Union

Please remember:  If your friend or family member owes fines, costs or restitution, a percentage of any money you deposit (regardless if it is electronically deposited) may go to paying his or her debt in accordance with DC-ADM-005

How To Email an Inmate

1. Go to the vendor website that services the institution where the inmate is housed.

2. Establish an account with that vendor and follow their instructions to create an email.

3. All emails are subject to review for appropriate content.  After review, the email will be printed on paper and delivered to the inmate.

4. Any response from the inmate will be mailed out using regular U.S. Postal Service mail.  Inmates do NOT have access to any outgoing email programs.
