My name is Josh Phillippi and I would like to welcome you to PrisonPlace.com. A place for families and friends on the outside. We have designed PrisonPlace.com to be an online community that is specifically designed for families and friends of inmates; inmates; and anyone looking for information, news, and support regarding prisons or prison related issues.
The idea for PrisonPlace.com began when I was sent to prison for a Probation Violation. As I was shuffled thru the process of going from court to county jail, to Reception, and finally to Corcoran State Prison, I had so many questions and concerns, as did my friends. Since I had no way of obtaining the information, I relied on what my friends and family could discover. To all our dismay, we found very little information and what we did find was often old or incorrect.Through this desire for information, we began to speak with officials at the institutions to gather ACCURATE information. We quickly realized the information we gathered would help many others in the same position.
We have made it our mission to continue to provide as much information and support as we can gather. We hope to bring as many outreach organizations to our site as Forum Sponsors as we can get. In order for this to work, I need your help by participating as a community member and we invite you to contribute any information you feel may help others going thru the same thing.
PrisonPlace.com contains a complete profile of every Federal and State prison throughout the U.S. Each prison profile contains "need to know" information including location, directions; how, where and what, to send regarding mail, books, magazines, packages, dress-outs, and information regarding visitation rules and guidelines.
In addition, PrisonPlace.com provides not only a nationwide community, but communities for each individual prison that includes; discussion forums, prison related news, member profiles, community newsletters, Blogs, instant messaging, file and photo galleries, and much more.
Thanks for your time, enjoy the site, and let us know how we can improve.
Sincerely,
Josh Phillippi
I thank you for this site. I'm the administrator of Cellpals.com. Our members often have inquiries that we don't have the time to address. From now on, I'm directing them to prisonplace!

Hi Josh
My name is Julie Travers, I am new to this site and I need to understand how to chat in the chat room. I can see someone say hello but when I try to respond I type and can see what I wrote. No body responding back after initial hello. I must not be doing it right. I have never chatted on line before. My loved one is my 20 yr old son just entering MCFP springfield for 18 mo sentence. He surrendered on 05/28/08. I haven't had a call or able to visit as of yet. On sat 05/31/08 I called to see if he could have a visit yet and the person said yes. When we showed up to visit we were not able because his list wasn't approved. I made sure to tell the person he just entered that Wed. was he through the process. We drove 5 hours for nothing. Thanks for providing this site.
Hi, We ran tests on the CHAT feature early this morning and all seems to be in working order.
Thanks and sorry for any problems
