Your son is in a reception center. Normally, inmates in Reception have very little access, if any, to phones and visitation is usually banned while they are being processed and then sent to Boot Camp.
He should be fairly safe as this is simply a processing center for recently sentenced inmates. Everyone will be in the same boat as he is..not knowing what to expect, not knowing where they will end up, etc.
