From Boston: Take the Southeast Expressway to exit 11 B (Route

24 North to Routes 128/93 North. Take exit 2B (Route 138/Milton). Route
138 North becomes Route 28/Blue Hill Avenue in Milton. Follow Route 28
North/Blue Hill Avenue through Mattapan Square to Route 203 West/Morton
Street (Mobil gas station, Boston Police Station) Take a left onto
Route 203 West/Morton Street. Go through the intersection at Harvard

From the East:
Take the Sumner Tunnel to Route 93 South/Southeast Expressway. Take

onto Route 203 West/Gallivan Boulevard. Route 203 West/Gallivan
Boulevard merges with Morton Street. Follow Route 203 West/Morton

VISITING RULES AND PROCEDURES
A. Inmates who are
medically determined to be in critical condition, imminent danger of
death, terminally ill or admitted on a long-term basis may be permitted
to have visits.
Long Term Admission will be defined as anyone
that is admitted for more than three (3) weeks to include Terminal
Illness / Critical Condition.
Only (1) visit per week will be
authorized for inmates that meet the long-term requirement. Inmates
requesting permission for a visit will do so by completing the attached
form to the superintendent through the Shift Commander. Form 103 CMR 483
A copy of the institution's visiting rules and procedures shall be made available to any visitor who requests one.
The
Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (Department of Correction) is located at 170
Morton Street, Jamaica Plain, Ma. The Correction Unit is located on
floor number eight (8), North side of the building.
Directions to the hospital, information on public transportation, and the hospital shuttle schedule are attached.
A
copy of the free Shattuck Hospital Shuttle schedule, which connects
with the MBTA Orange Line, shall be posted in the lobby of the hospital.
All
visits will be scheduled twenty four (24) hours in advance for one (1)
time period by calling 617-522-7584 ext.133 or 617-971-3384.
The maximum number of visitors per inmate allowed on any one day is two.
Visits will be limited to a one-hour period per inmate.
A
two-hour visit may be scheduled for visitors traveling over 75 miles.
Visitors should inform the officer when booking the visit that they are
requesting a two-hour visit because of travel distance.
The SHCU visiting hours on 8 North are as follows:
Monday through Friday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Sunday/Saturday 1:30-2:30 PM / 3:30 to 7:30 PM
MALE VISITORS
The following restrictions shall apply to all male visitors entering the Shattuck Hospital Correction Unit.
(1) No blue, black or gray denim dungaree pants, coats, vests, or jackets.
(2) No sweatpants.
(3) No black, navy blue, or gray sweatshirts.
(4) No fatigue or camouflage clothing.
(5) No shorts.
(6) No sleeveless shirts, bare midriff, tank tops or muscle shirts.
(7)
Any combination of black or blue pants with a white shirt or a blue
shirt which closely resemble those worn by inmates or officers will not
be allowed.
(8) Underpants must be worn
(9) Any clothing similar to that worn by an inmate or uniform personnel will not be allowed.
FEMALE VISITORS
The following restrictions shall apply to all female visitors entering the Shattuck Hospital Correction Unit.
(1) No Blue, black, or gray denim coats, vest or jackets.
(2)
No tights, leotards, or bodysuit of dance/exercise fashion to be worn
alone as an outfit; allowed only with pants, skirt, or shirts that meet
the required four (4) inch length above the knee (ref. to 9).
(3)
No sleeveless garments, halter tops, tank tops, tube tops or clothing
that reveals the midriff or exposes the back beyond the upper shoulder
area.
(4) No visible sheer clothing with/without undergarments.
(5) Proper traditional undergarments bras, underpants, must be worn.
(6) No bathing suits.
(7) No gym shorts, bike shorts or shorts that exceed four (4) inches above the knee.
(8) No high cut or excessively revealing clothing.
(9) No dresses or skirts that exceed four (4) inches above the knee or wrap-around skirts/dresses are permitted.
(10) No skirts with slits extending four (4) inches above the knee are permitted.
(11) No low-cut tops that reveal any part of the breast (including cleavage).
(12) No visibly sheer underwear.
(13) Dresses of lightweight material must be worn with a full slip.
(14) Blouses of a lightweight material must be worn with a camisole.
(15) No open pockets.
(16) No jeans/slacks with zipper other than fly area which would have easy access to undergarments.
