From Iowa City
Take Hwy 1 from Iowa City. Anamosa is
about 40 miles north. Stay on Hwy 1 and proceed through Solon and Mount Vernon. Outside of
Anamosa, proceed straight ahead through Hwy 151 intersection, and continue
through Fairview.
As you enter Anamosa, you'll cross the Wapsipinicon River
bridge. Several blocks straight ahead, the street bends sharply right (at the
Casey's store). Follow the bend. This will be Main Street. Look for the courthouse on
your left. Be prepared to turn left on High Street. The prison is behind the
Courthouse.
2) From Cedar Rapids. Take either Anamosa exit off Hwy
151. If you take the first exit (Hwy 1), follow the directions above. If you
take the Hwy 64 exit (by Wal-Mart), turn left at Wal-Mart. Proceed into the
city, and follow the road as it bends to the right. At the 4-way stop, turn
left onto Main Street.
After third stop light, look for High Street, and turn right there. Prison is
behind Courthouse.
3) From Dubuque. Exit Hwy 151 at Wal-Mart, then
follow directions in #2 above.
4) From the east (Hwy 64). See
directions in #2 above.
5) From the west (on County Home Road,
via Whittier
and Viola). At T-intersection in Fairview,
turn left, then follow directions in #1 above.
