Dec. 13, 2007............Our daughter had to spend 6 months at the Madison Correctional Facility last year.  We don't know much about prisons to make any comparisons, but it seemed OK, insofar as being in prison can go.  We seldom had any problems with mail, calls, or visitation.  She didn't have too many issues with any of the guards or other inmates.  At the time, it was a minimum security.  I'm assuming it still is, but things change so much you never know.  The one thing she really enjoyed was the view of the Ohio River and the hills, when they were permitted.  The visitation was in a large room, tile floors, round lunch tables, plastic chairs, and a few vending machines.  If permitted, we were allowed to go outside into a courtyard area where there were a couple of picnic tables and benches.  They had a table covered with kids' games, books, crayons, and coloring pages.  No one was ever nasty or hateful, but some were very "guard-like", down to business types.  Few were relatively friendly.
