Today, Christmas Eve, 2008, I give you my hope that those of you with loved ones in prison will find the strength to be able to live not just one day at a time, but multiple days at a time, finding strength to believe that any bad situation can change for the better.

As an ex felon, I have been in prison, and have been out since 2001, I know what it is like to be in prison, and have gone through many tribulations, but one thing I have found out is that God watches over us and will help if you let Him.  I say to you today, that many of you will have a tough time this season, but I sincerly hope that some of you will be given peace to get through the next few days, and then the strength to not just exist but to gather strength.

Your loved one in prison needs you to be well and in good health, not worried every second of the day.  It is ok to think of the ones you missed, we have all been there, but do NOT let fear, worry and misery take hold of you.  If you go through this time of year feeling that way, you would have literally given the holiday over to the devil, who will in turn, spit in your face.

I encourage you, if you must, pray for your loved one, and then find a reason to believe in the future.  Find a reason to at least smile a few times, find a reason to say, "Merry Christmas" to a few people that need it.  Even speaking that is a form of faith, because you are wishing someone a better day.

My hope to you all is that you may be empowered to believe that the days you are now in can get much better.  Do not give up on that, or your loved one in prison.  Hold your faith in that.
