Re: Coleman USP Information and Discussion/ Once again I ask to please let the inmates call home 10/28/08

I'm curious of how long this recent lock-down will be?  Why not let the inmates that mind their own business and keep out of trouble, phone their family.  There are many inmates who's parent's are elderly and ill and get very upset if they don't hear from their loved ones.

    Warden Middlebrooke,

Please find it in your heart to at least let the inmates in USP1 call home.

    Thank you,

Re: Coleman USP Information and Discussion

The last letter I received was dated July 21st, I'm still sending 3 letters a week, and we both know overseas mail is always an unknown entity, sometimes I go a week without a letter, soemtimes I get 2 or 3 letters all in one day, but have never gone this long without hearing from him. I struggle to get any information regarding lockdowns and what restrictions are placed on the prisoners during these times. We only have our letters as the phone is simply too expensive for anything other than Birthdays and Christmas.

As for arranging a visit, crossing the Atlantic, finding a place to stay, hiring a car, getting his hopes up, then turning up at Coleman 2 to find it's locked down, at the moment I can't do it, to him or me.

    AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH

    Dear Coleman,

Please advise if your able to advise what is going on at Coleman USP 1?  My family has not heard from one of the prisoners in 2wks this is very unlike him. I'm aware their on lockdown but I thought they come out of their cells once a day and can make calls at that time. I realize they've committed an offense and must do their time. However, they still have very concerned loved ones on the outside who care about these prisoners well being. Please please allow them to at least make one call a day during this time if this is feasible.

    Thank you.

Re: Coleman USP Information and Discussion

Coleman is always on lockdown from my experience with them for nearly two years. My husband will be out of there in a few months. They do not get phone calls nor even a shower for 13 days this lockdown. They will be out in a week or two from what my letters have said. Do not panic when they are in lockdown, realize they are safer when in lockdown and they are fine, just bored mainly. Once you get used to the lockdowns you learn not to worry about them. As long as I get mail I feel happy he is ok and out of harms way.
