MISSION: Provides housing for state and county inmates and a general labor force supporting Effingham County Government.
HOUSING: Two dormitories. One isolation/segregation cell.
WORK DETAILS: One detail consisting of 12 inmates who clean out pipes and cut right-of- ways. A patch crew, usually consisting of four inmates assists in cutting right-of-ways and patching roads.
DIRECTIONS: From Atlanta: I-75 to Macon then I-16 East Highway 119. Turn left onto Highway 119 through Guyton toward Springfield. Go past the Effingham County Hospital and the Effingham County Prison is on the right.
