MISSION: Houses general population and mental health prisoners. This facility also operates a Correctional Industries Garment Factory. It is also the central tool/vehicle storage and warehouse for the Inmate Construction Divisions.
HOUSING: Six living units, each containing four pods. Each pod has twelve two-man cells. Half of one unit is a Supportive Living Unit for MH/MR inmates; the other two pods are reserved for isolation and segregation. A separate "fast track" unit houses outside details and inmate construction workers in four open dormitories with sixty-two beds each.
WORK DETAILS: Department of Transportation, Georgia State Patrol, Correctional Industries, Mobile Construction, Bibb County and the City of Macon all have work details.
DIRECTIONS: From Atlanta: I-75 South to I-475 South. Exit at US 80. Proceed West for approximately two miles, then turn left (South) onto Fulton Mill Road. Travel approximately two one-half miles on Fulton Mill Road. Central SP is on the left.
