Directions:
Take I-95 to West Palm Beach. Turn west onto Southern Boulevard. Drive
approximately 42 miles to US-441 and turn left. Drive approximately ½
mile and entrance to institution will be on the right.
Historical Information: This facility was
established in 1932 as Florida Prison Farm #2. Inmates were sent from
Florida Prison Farm #1 in Raiford to grow fresh vegetables for state
institutions. In 1951 it was renamed Glades State Prison Farm. In 1961
it became Glades C.I. housing 500 adult male minimum, medium custody
inmates. In 1970 it began accepting close custody inmates. Currently,
this facility houses adult male inmates. Glades Work Camp, Loxahatchee
Road Prison, West Palm Beach Work Release Center and Atlantic Work
Release Center are under the supervision of Glades C.I.
