Hello, I really know how your feeling. My boyfriend surrendered 3 years ago and watching him walk thru those doors was a horrible feeling and something i will never forget. I have heard that with federal time they have to serve at least 85% of their sentence, which really sucks!!! I know it seems like a long time now, but to be honest, I think we are closer now then we were before he went in. Now we actually talk, i mean like really talk and i really wonder if we would have gotten this close and this deep if he had not gone in. I think you put things in perspective and realize what you have when you dont have that person there all the time. Just take this time to really get close. You will be surprised at how open he becomes about his feelings and his dreams and just life. And also how you almost start thinking as one. Its really amazing and for that I am so happy and it helps me get thru the time. Just keep your head up and know that your not alone!
HEY THERE WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE. MY BOYFRIEND OF 17YEARS WITH 3KIDS JUST WAS SENT TO 3 YEARS. HIS LAWYER STATED THAT THEY WILL TWLL YOU 85% BUT 90% OF THE TIME ITS ONLY 50% BECAUSE OF THE JAILS BEING OVERCROWDED. WE HAVE GROWN SO SO SO MUCH SINCE HE HAS BEEN INCARCERATED THAT ITS SAD THAT THIS TRAMATIZING EVENT HAD TO PUT US CLOSER. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FAITH TRUST ME WITH DOING THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF OF MY PSYCHIATRIC MEDICINE BECAUSE I HAD A MENTAL BREAK DOWN FROM WHAT HE DID. GOD BLESS AND IT WILL COME TO AN END JUST GIVE TIME..
