    Ex-inmate visit a current inmate we are curious as to when a released prisoner is able to visit with someone who is still incarcerated

    We are actually in Alberta, Canada

    I have read that in California, an ex-inmate must be off parole and have the Warden's permission to visit a current inmate.

     You might want to post this to the Canadian forum. I'm sure Menolly will know the answer to this.  It's true that here in Cali, an ex convict must be off parole and must first be granted visiting approval by the prison's warden, but I'm sure that varies from state to state and in Canada as well.
