I dont go to middleton anymore, my husband has been moved. Now i drive to FT stockton every weekend. This week is the marriage seminar so I have really looking forward to that because i get to spend a whole 8 hours with him on saturday and then on sunday we are renewing our vows.... I cant wait....
Prison visitation sucks but you know I take it however i can get it at this point. When i go and I get 2 hours with him i feel so complete but then letting go is always the hard part.....
Hey Tammy, I'm kind of new to the area here but I know a little about the byrd unit. My husband just got transfered from there a couple mths ago. My best advise is no matter where he ends up, at make sure and call them first before you make that drive that could lead to disappointment. Also I learned the hard way is they are only allowed 2 adult visitors onthe prison grounds. Any other adults will be asked to wait at the check point where you let them look in your vehicle. As for the youngest one your allowed 2 diapers and 1 bottle. no diaper bag or purse. change only. I hope this helps.

Good Morning mrscooper, Im glad to see the prison system does something to help marriages. Can you tell me how to find out if they offer any thing like that in the Pack Unit, Navasota Tx. We've been married 21 years June 23 2008. Although it hasn't been all roses most of the time but we did say" for better or worse, rich or poor." So a little refresher course might be good for us before we get to the "till death do we part."lol any info would be great.
Thanks Susan
Hi,,, call the warden of your husbands unit and ask them. They really should offer this at all units but right now TDC is so strapped for CO's that it is difficult to get the superivision needed. IF you have the chance go...... it will be a blessing to you and your husband. No matter how long or short of a time you have been married,,, you will learn something new and you will find what was missing.
Let us know how it turns out with the chaplan. Write him, call him, bug him.
did you find out anything about the marriage seminars at your husbands unit. If you get a chance I encourage you to do all you can to get there. It was awesome. We are having another one in March, I pray that I am able to go back since I took the first one in January. It is def an experience that is life changing. Not to mention the time you get to spend with your husband actually seems like real time. No guards over your shoulders and no one telling you that you have 5 minutes left.
At first I was very nervous because we had to walk right through the prison, but you know what the inmates there were very polite. They didnt cat call at us, (thats 6 months on thier time added) they stopped and let you pass by them, they also knew the lines they could not cross. So it wasnt so bad, but if your anything like me, I am a very caring, loving forgiving person, so I was never afraid of the inmates. I was more afraid of doing or saying something wrong to jeapardize my husband sentence. I was worried I would go to the wrong bathroom, or see something I didnt want to see. Things like that. So if you get a chance to go, please go.
Where have you ladies been?? Havent seen you in awhile?
Hey Girl, I'm out here still trying to learn how to find my way around the whole "internet- computer" thing. Hell I'm still doing the hunt and peck thing. ha! Anyway hows it with you? Good I hope. I've been pretty good. A few up days, more down days. Buts thats life. If I can find my way back here, I'll drop by. Have a good day.
Later,
Good morning Mrs Cooper,
How's it going? In answer to your question, no I haven't had a chance to check into anything. If I had it would have been for no reason. WHY? because they moved him again. So can you give me any info on the Lablanc Unit in Beaumont Texas? He was moved on Feb 11-08. I had plans to go visit this Valentines weekend but had a last minute event booked for Sunday so I couldn't go. I'm glad I didn't cause I would have made a 3 hour trip only to be told they moved him the week before. But of course I should follow my own advise I gave everyonre here. CALL BEFORE YOU LEAVE.CALL CALL CALL. Oh well leason learned.
As for wedding plans. Go to www.sociallyyoursellie.com this is our web site. My boss is much better at the planing stages and advise. I put it together following her design. She's great. My advice is where ever you decide to have you wedding, get to know the building manager. He or she can make your event go alittle easier. Have fun planning with your friends and family, and remember it's your day.
I see it does not look like no one has posted here in some time. But I am a wife of a Texas Inmate and I was just curious if there was anyone here that had a loved one in the Texas system that would like to start htis thread up again??
