5 yrs.... went in right after community college |

What are your main duties? Do you work a certain Level? |

I mainly am there to watch and maintain the yard |

I notice you used the term "went in" Do the inmates and CO's often use the same terms/language? |

I also am the foreman for the Yard Crew which maintains the yard |

Pretty much a service term... when I went into the service | iuras was removed from the channel due to inactivity.

on overcrowding, how does it effect your role in prison |

It effects the overall moral of the populaton... when you have guys on top of each other... it makes the moral of the whole yard change... it has been getting worse over the years |

We were only meant to hold so many.. and moral of everybody and how they would get along was thought of when they created the insitutions |

You say guys are "on top of each other" are you referring to cells or holding areas? |

I mean that we have gone from two man bunks to three man... we are starting to hold people in dayrooms... etc |

Wow, do the number of COs increase as well...as overcroding worsens? |

no Budgets won't allow.... however the good thing for us is alot of overtime |

Well money is nice, as long as you are safe:) I know alot of folks on our website talk about their husbands are just trying to serve their time and get out....is that typical, from your view, I mean? |

It goes both ways... those are the guys we try to champion.... but the majority are and have to deal with politics.... which unfortunelty goes both for us as well as them |
