Ok a few more questions maybe you can help me with.  Do you have the CDC web site? and Forgive my ignorance What do you mean by an embossed enevelope? Can then envelope be stamped already?

I have a few questions. My son just entered reception there on april 30. I got my visitation form today. Do your inmate #'s change from County to state prison?

Also, where do i send the form ? back to my son or somewhere else?

How do i find out who his counselor is (or will be) so i can send a hardship letter via certified mail to him.

can i put money on his books any other way than money order?

How do they classify them.   He is in for 2nd deg. murder but it is his first time in for anything.

can i send him canteen  purchases?

 I am new to this myself however I can aswer a couple of your questions.  Yes when they are moved from county to State their numbers change.  You need his CDC#

You can place money on his books via the computer on this site https://www.jpay.com. I used it it was fine.

What is an embossed envelope? 

My boyfriend was just moved up there today!! I am currently trying to find all the info I can about that place!! He is in the reception area..How long has you loved one been at NKSP?

Well My freind has been in reception for over 2 months.  I believe they are in the process of moving him at the moment according to his last letter and I have not heard from him in almost a week and we write 3/4 times a week.  I hope the next time I hear from him it will be his voice over the phone. All I can say is as soon as you get his CDC# write as aften as you can.  Sent him stamps, envelopes, and paper. So that he can write you.  and try to keep money on his books so he doesnt have to borrow.

hi my husband is in Delano i have been trying to get some kind of info like is CDC # i want to wright him but all i know is his bk # and can i still put money on his books at the twin towers there's so much that i dont know i need some help please and dose anyone know the address to Delano were u send the mail to god this is so hard

I'm not sure if your questions have been answered yet, but I thought I'd answer them just in case- the phone number for NKSP is 661-721-2345, press one for english and then 1 for inmate services.  If you want to find out who is counselor is, wait for the prompt that says records.  You cannot send him any packages until he gets into mainline.  At that point there is some great websites that you can order preapproved inmate care packages.  Go to this website http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Visitors/Facilities/KVSP.html and on the right there is a link for packages.  As far as how they classify him, I'm not sure...my fiance is also a first time offender and has been in reception since May 30th.  Good luck and take care.

My boyfriend said he does not want me to visit him at Delano because it is far and behind glass. If he sends me a visition form from Noth Kern, wil I be approved for whatever prison he gets transferred to or do I need a new visitation form again?? Please let me know, thanks everyone!!

Yes.  Once you are approved it follows you to wherever he goes in the state of California.  The process is a long one so I would get your application going as soon as possible.  And tell your boyfriend to send you 2 or 3 signed copies of the application, that way if you mess up you won't have to wait for him to send you a new one!  And since reception is a long process (my fiance has been in there for 129 days so far) seeing him behind glass and at least being able to hear his voice is better than nothing.  I finally got to see Marc 2 weeks ago, and even though it was a long drive from San Diego, it was worth every dollar spent in gas just to see his smile.  Good luck!
