Thanks for the info.  Glad all the yards are normal of course accept for mine.

I haven't heard of the whites and blacks getting into it for awhile, I hope this doesn't spread to the other yards.  You never know.

Re: Kern Valley State Prison (Delano 2)

It stems from an "incident" in the D yard gym last week where the whites and blacks mixed it up - Code 3.  I'd expect them to be locked down for a minute over this one.

C yard is back up from the last 3 day lockdown and men are getting calls out from there again.

Re: Kern Valley State Prison (Delano 2)

It IS hard to say, however historically at KVSP the non-contact visits don't last longer than a month or so.  They may do what they did on A yard earlier this year and alternate visiting days.  For example, one weekend the blacks can have contact visits and the next weekend the whites can.  If the black inmates continue their stance of not accepting the whites in the gym, the glass visits could last quite a while.

You just never can tell, but as it stands now on that yard, the blacks and whites cannot be allowed together in a locked visiting room.  Back in the day, the visiting room was "neutral ground" but in the past 5 years or so, the youngsters don't honor this, so glass visiting is becoming more prevelent.

     Hang in there!

C yard incident this morning 10am

Lower C yard was placed on get down at 10am this morning.  Phone calls were then terminated and it is assumed that the yard is again on lockdown.

Re: C yard incident this morning 10am

It was Sunday morning - the date of the post.  The yard is back up - or was.  I think the entire system is on lockdown due to the evacuation of RJ Donovan prison in San Diego.  No calls are getting out of KVSP, CIM in on lockdown due to the fire (Donovan) issue, so I'm guessing they may have locked down the entire state while they evacuate Donovan.

If you have a loved one at KVSP and want up to date info always, go to:

We also have a website at http://www.kernvalleystateprison.info/

    Statewide lockdown may be over

I never could get confirmation on IF there actually was a statewide lockdown due to the evacuation of RJ Donovan prison in San Deigo, but calls weren't getting out this morning from 4 different prisons I was monitoring.  At 1pm though calls came out of Tehachipi, so at least that prison is allowing phone calls.

Due to security reasons CDC and the local prisons wouldn't confirm about Donovan for me, so I'm still not positive it was evacuated.  The newspaper down there told me yes however.

Currently both B and D yard are locked down at KVSP from incidents last week.  C yard was okay yesterday, but no calls were coming out of C yard this morning.

When I can get some confirmed info, I will post to my KVSP Yahoo Group and here.

Re: Statewide lockdown may be over

My pleasure.  I just got more info.  SVSP and CTF south both got calls out this morning.  I think they may have locked down the L4 and possibly L3 yards this morning statewide during the evacuation - if there was an evacuation.  LOL

CDCr (they only get a little r from me) needs to be tight-lipped in situations like this and I understand that.

Just the logistics of evacuating almost 5000 inmates boggles my mind.  If they did it - I hope it went smoothly and no one was hurt.
