Prison Place

Work Programs:
Inmate work programs provide meaningful job assignments for inmates and promote responsibility and accountability.  Inmates assigned to the work program receive wages through the Work Incentive Pay Plan (WIPP) which help support their needs while incarcerated.

Treatment Programs:
The substance abuse program at ASP-Florence West is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services to provide treatment services to inmates.  The facility is licensed for DUI education and treatment and as an outpatient treatment program for individual/group/family.  DUI inmates are required to complete 36 hours of substance abuse programming while incarcerated and each inmate must attend 5 hours of continuing education.  Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and other self-help groups are led by outside facilitators and available to inmates.

Religious Activities
Religious activities are provided with the help of religious volunteers including the following faith groups;  Catholic, Non-Denominational, Pentecostal, Muslim, Native American, Jehovah's Witness, LDS (Mormon), and others.  Prison Fellowship Christian studies and seminars in English and Spanish are offered.

Recreational Activities:
Physical activities organized and supervised by Recreational and security Staff includes basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, and various track and field events.  Indoor recreational activities include games of checkers, dominoes, chess, pinochle and Monopoly.  Individual in-house hobbycraft activities include a variety of arts and crafts.

ASP-Florence West:
Saturday, Sunday, & Holidays 0800 - 1500. Alternating weekend days by building.  Call for details. (DUI's - Sat, Sun)  (Return To Custody - Mon)
Visitor Registration Hours:   0730 - 1100 and 1230 - 1400 on visitation days.
Non-Contact Visitation is scheduled on an individual basis on Tuesdays 0800 - 1500 in 2-hour increments.

Special visitation is available in accordance with the Visitation Policy.

From Tucson:
Get on the I-10 Freeway, travel approx. 55-65 miles until you come into the Picacho area.  At Picacho, get off on the Eloy/Coolidge exit, which will be Highway 87.  Stay on Hwy 87, travel approx. 15-25 miles until you arrive, and pass through the City of Coolidge.  After you pass Collidge, you will come to Highway 287.  Head East on Hwy 287 (there will be a sign indicating the direction of Florence) travel approx. 8-10 miles until you arrive to the City of Florence.  Once at Florence, you travel North on Main Street until you come upon Butte Ave.  Make a right on Butte Ave and travel east until you come upon Highway 79.  Make a left on Hwy 79 heading North until you come upon Diversion Dam Road.  Make a right on Diversion Dam Road heading east until you come upon the institution.  We are at:

FROM PHOENIX:
Get on the I-10 Freeway, travel approx. 60-75 miles until you come to the Sacaton/Coolidge/Florence exit.   Head east on the Sac/Cldg/Flnce exit (there will be a sign indicating the direction of Sac/Cldg/Flnce),  travel approx. 10-12 miles around a mountain until you come upon Highway 87.  Make a right on Hwy 87 (there will be a sign indicating the direction of Coolidge & Florence) heading east until you come to the outskirts of the Coolidge city limits.  Once you pass the Collidge entrance, Hwy 87 will turn into Hwy. 287.   You keep heading on Hwy. 287 traveling approx. another 8-10 miles until you reach Florence.  Once at Florence, you travel North on Main St. until you come upon Butte Ave.  Make a right on Butte Ave. and travel east until you come upon Hwy 79.   Make a left on Hwy 79 heading North until you come upon Diversion Dam Rd.   Make a right on Diversion Dam Rd.  Heading est until you come upon the institution.  We are at:
