CellPals! is a prison pen pal organization that seeks to aid inmates in finding positive influences during a given term of incarceration. It is hoped that a healthy pen pal relationship will not only be a positive experience for many prisoners, who have had few but will also aid in lowering the recidivism rates of America's prisons. It is the intention that if recidivism rates are lowered then not only will our community benefit from lower victimization rates, but so will the prisoners as they are more apt to return to society, after their release, as an active, positive member of society. I have tried to get on to these pen pal sites...with no luck...my husband has sent me 3 men who would like pen pals and I have had no luck.....any help would be appreciated..thanks in advance...

There are quite a few PP sites on the www. Many are free, some chage a small fee. If you go to a search engine, and type in inmate pen pals you should find quite a lot. Beware, some are better than others, and just becuse you pay, does not mean you will get a better service.
I have just developed a website for DOC offenders obtaining a pen pal. This site is unique in the fact it was developed by myself an ex-offender who knows the value of having outside contact and the needs of offenders. The websites address is www.hoosierpenpals.com we also have a forum for open discussion. The site is free for pen pals but does require a small fee for listing the personal ads of offenders. $20 or $40 depending on the plan you choose. I also include email contact.
