Do you have to be *approved* in order to receive calls OR on a pre-existing list?

    Yes.

Can your loved one pay for the call themselves?

    Yes.

Are YOU required to prepay for the calls?

No, but if you are a Verizon customer, you may be required to pre-pay.

Are you allowed to use call-forwarding? Three way calling? Other call-features?

    No.

Can your loved one call a toll free number? (800-numbers)

    No.

Are you permitted to receive calls on cell phones?

    No.

Will your loved ones have to schedule their calls or are they limited on how many calls they can make?

Not if they are in general population and in the lowest security level. Those who are in higher security levels are limited to a set number of calls and must sign up for calls at least one day in advance.

    Additional Info:

In general population at the regular prisons, calls can only be made
during "block-out", for a total of 15 minutes per day. Special programs
like Boot Camp and the Young Adult Offender Program have different
    phone rules.

In the Minimum Security County Detention Center, they are allowed one free, local call for 10 minutes per day and then allowed 15 minute collect calls to all other numbers.

    Bye,
